Preparing for Baptism
Having your child baptised is one of the most sacred acts preformed in church and something which we at St Nicholas are passionate about preparing you well to undertake. Therefore before you can book a date for baptism, there is some preparation that you are required to do.
-
Please complete the baptism enquiry form, found on the Baptism page.
-
One of the team will then contact you to arrange a meeting with Reverend Tim.
-
You will then meet with Reverend Tim to discuss your reasons for Baptism and to explain the process.
-
Following this, you will be required to attend at least two regular acts of worship on a Sunday, at the church.
-
Once you have attended two services, you will be able to book the date for your child's Baptism.
Please note: When completing the enquiry form, please ensure you complete ALL the information on the form, as this will be needed to complete the service register of your child's Baptism.
Timings: We have a high number of inquiries for Baptism, therefore this take up a lot of Reverend Tim's time. There may be a wait of around 4 weeks from initial inquiry to when you will meet with Tim. If you are part of the Church and worship with us regularly, this waiting time will not apply. From initial inquiry to the actual Baptism may take up to 4 months.
Regarding Godparents: Godparents
DO need to have been Baptised themselves in order to take on the role of Godparent. They is a maximum limit of 6 Godparents per child permitted.
Baptism services take place on the first & third Sunday of each month* and 12:15pm, with up to 2 different family groups.
There is no charge for the service, however donations for the upkeep of the church are welcomed.
*additional dates may be offered depending on demand.
